名門パーソンズ美術大学卒でファッションデザインを学び卒業後も数々のデザイナーとの出会いやコラボを実現してきました。

世界初のオンラインウェディング

少しプライベートの話になりますが、昨年結婚しました。

パンデミックがあってから、パーティーができなかったものの、去年の２０２０年４月１８日に、ウェディングを決行。自宅のアパートで。しかも『Zoom（ズーム）』を利用してのオンラインウェディング！

ちょうどその日はニューヨーク州が初めてオンラインウェディングを許可した日だったので、なんと世界初のズームウェディングをしたカップルとして一躍有名になった日でもありました。

この日のウェディングの記事がアメリカとイギリスのニュースでたくさん取り上げられることになり、ある意味とても忘れられない良い記念になったウェディング。

 

ニューヨークで働く現役デザイナーのウェディングとして、日本でもファッションマガジンや、ウェディングマガジンからと、多数インタビューを受けたのがまだつい先日のように鮮明な記憶として残っています。

ウェディング前日のバチェロレッテ・パーティー

 

ニューヨークでは通常ウェディング前日に『バチェラー・パーティー』『バチェロレッテ・パーティー』をします！

バチェラーパーティーは良く耳にするのではないでしょうか？

“バチェロレッテ”は未婚の独身女性という意味。バチェロレッテ・パーティは、結婚式の前に新婦のために開かれる独身最後のパーティ、言わば女性版バチェラーパーティです。

通常はウェディングパーティーの前日からブライドメイズたちと夜を過ごし、同じパジャマ、お揃いのイニシャル入りのスリッパを履いて、夜通し次の日の本番の話をしてお泊まりするのが定番。

お泊りと言っても、朝から晩まで踊り続けるので履きやすくて、動きやすいスリッパサンダルを用意する必要があります。

ビーチウェディングの場合は、来客全員にサンダルを配る用意をするなどで、ブライド＆グルームは事前に１００足以上注文することもあり、大忙し。どんなサンダルをオーダーするのかも、センスが問われるところ。
